How to export a keystore entry with Portecle?

To export a keystore entry:

  1. Right-click on the keystore entry in the keystore entries table. Select the Export item from the resultant pop-up menu.
  2. The Export Keystore Entry dialog is displayed. The options available depend on the type of entry you chose to export and are detailed below:
    • Key pair export types
      • Head Certificate (export formats: DER, PEM, PKCS #7 or PkiPath)
      • Certificate Chain (export formats: PKCS #7 or PkiPath)
      • Private Key and Certificates (export formats: PEM or PKCS #12)
    • Trusted certificate export types
      • Head Certificate (export formats: DER, PEM, PKCS #7 or PkiPath)
  3. Choose your preferred Export Type and Export Format and press the OK button.
  4. If the current keystore type is not PKCS #12, the export is for Private Key and Certificates and you have yet to supply the password for the entry:
    • The Key Pair Entry Password dialog will be displayed.
    • Enter the key pair entry's password and acknowledge the dialog by pressing OK.
  5. If the export is for a Private Key and Certificates:
    • The PKCS #12 Keystore Password dialog will be displayed.
    • Enter the password to protect the keystore with, confirm it and press the OK button.
  6. The Export dialog is displayed.
  7. Select the folder to export to.
  8. Type the filename into the File Name text box.
  9. Click on the Export button.
